Iced drinks for Etobicoke summers
When the weather turns warm, iced coffee in Etobicoke gets a lot more interesting than a cup of cold brew over ice. Cafe 295, on the seventh floor at 295 The West Mall inside Jilani Place, builds its iced lineup to actually look and taste like something.
Start with the classics: iced latte, iced americano, cold brew, all pulled and poured to order, never sitting around going flat. Then there is the part we are known for. Our matcha is whisked fresh with a bamboo whisk and served over milk in layers, banana on the bottom, matcha green on top, so you shake it yourself before the first sip. Strawberry matcha follows the same idea with fruit instead of banana. If you want something outside the matcha and coffee lane, Berry Sage Fizz and Guava Rose are our seasonal coolers, light and a little fun for a hot afternoon.
Every iced drink comes in a tall clear cup so you can see the layers before you mix them in, and oat milk works with anything that takes milk. Nothing is premade or sitting in a fridge. It goes together when you order.
If you are nearby, the seventh floor at 295 The West Mall is worth the elevator ride. Weekdays we open early for the morning rush and stay open through the afternoon heat, weekends a little later. Come try the drink everyone asks us to make on video, or stick with a straightforward iced coffee if that is more your morning.
Either way, summer in Etobicoke goes down better with something cold from Cafe 295.
